1. To read my devotional and/or the Bible every day
I got a daily devotional for Christmas that takes me less than 2 minutes to read, so I really have no excuse not to read it. I already missed one day I’ll admit…but I was traveling all day, had company over (my sister!) and I was sick, soooo that’s my pathetic excuse. I made up for it though and plan to not miss any more days. 🙂 God’s blessed me with so much, its the least I can do to spend time with Him everyday other than daily prayers.
2. To take a photo every day this year
Back in 2013 I did Project 365, which is where you take a photo everyday! It was challenging but fun. I love going back to that album and having a memory from each day that I can go back to. I am sharing these photos daily on my facebook photography page here and also on my Instagram account. So follow me on those and keep me accountable if I miss a day! I figured since I’m taking this year off from my photo business, that this would force me to continue to be creative and grow in my skills and have fun with it for ME! So far so good on this one!
3. To be more consistent with my workout schedule
I was all out of whack with this over the holidays with all the traveling, but now that I’m home I hope I’ll be able to keep up with it. My goal is to do SOME type of workout every weekday. Weekends are off. 😉 Even if this means just one 15 minutes Pilates video, I want to make sure I do something every week day. I always notice when I’ve been slacking, and I always notice when I’ve been persistent because I feel stronger and I feel like I can go much longer in my workout before I’m tired. I also just feel better and more energized when I’ve been working out. I know there will be some days when I have things going on or days that I don’t feel well, so I’m not as strict with this goal, but I’m going to give it my best shot!
4. Learn lots of new skills!
I’m going to be really specific about this one. I want to try my hand at making my own butter! I know from all the tutorials I’ve read that its so easy, but I haven’t tried it and I really want to. I also want to try making my own homemade pasta. I know pasta won’t be one of those things I always make homemade, but I want to know how to make it and occasionally make homemade ravioli…yum!! On the even more ambitious side…I want to start making my own soap. 😀 I got a soap making book and supplies for my birthday, so I’m currently reading the book and once I’ve done that I’ll order the supplies and get started! I’ll be sure to blog about it. I also want to learn how to sew! My only experience with sewing was in middle school home ec. class. I feel like this should be a skill that I know how to do, so I’m going to at least learn the basics this year. My awesome seamstress friend GAVE me her old sewing machine! I was so excited. I’m going to take a beginners sewing class at Joann’s and hopefully I’ll love it and learn how to make some awesome stuff!
5. To grow my blog
I hope to grow my little blog this year! To do this I know I need to be posting more consistently so its my goal to post twice a week. Hopefully I can keep coming up with good content and find topics that are interesting and helpful!
If you have any words of wisdom, on accomplishing any of these goals, let me know in the comments! 🙂
