Hey y’all! So tomorrow I enter week 27 of my pregnancy and will officially be in my 3rd trimester! Holy Cow! I can’t believe it. I know some people say the 3rd trimester doesn’t start until week 28 and some say 27, but mathematically, 27 seems more accurate so that’s what I’m sticking with. 😉 This trimester has been pretty amazing. I have felt completely normal, aside from constant hunger. Some highlights were that we obviously went to Alaska! (Check out my post about that here if you missed it) and I did something a little out of my comfort zone and applied to be a “style ambassador” for Pink Blush Maternity!
As you probably realize, this is not a fashion blog. Posing for photos makes me feel silly, but its so fun nonetheless! Shopping for maternity clothes was pretty discouraging for me until I found a few places that actually had cute maternity clothes. One of those was PinkBlush! I bought my Easter dress there and another dress for our photoshoot with Twig and Olive and absolutely loved them both. My favorite thing was that they didn’t look like “maternity” dresses. They just looked like something cute I would wear anyway…just with a little extra room in the middle. 😉 While shopping online one day I noticed a link on their website to apply to be a “style ambassador” and figured I would go for it since I was buying clothes from there anyways and I didn’t have anything to lose. A week or so later I got the email that I was picked! I was so excited…and surprised. I got to pick out a few things from the website to model for them!! How fun is that!? So below I’ll share my picks and a few other cute maternity outfits I’ve gotten along with a few fun recaps from my 2nd trimester of pregnancy! 🙂
Since my 3 year wedding anniversary is coming up I HAD to get a dress for one of my picks! I needed something to wear for our fancy date night! I went with this blue dress because it would match my eyes. I love the fitted style dresses the most because they hug my baby bump and don’t feel like I’m wearing a sack. A lot of maternity clothes I’ve tried made me feel like I was wearing a large sack and gave me no form. These dresses are great for dressing up with heels and a necklace but also look casual enough to wear around town with sandals or flip flops!
I was 26 weeks for these photos! I feel this little baby moving basically ALL day. Sometimes it feels like little flutters and other times it feels like I’m getting lightly punched. Haha! You can often SEE the baby moving around in my belly in the evenings. Little lumps will pop up on my belly and start moving around. This baby is so wiggly! Something new is that I’m now getting Braxton hicks contractions! They started around week 25 ish. It feels like my uterus is squeezing in and when I touch my belly it feels hard like a rock. It doesn’t hurt but it is a weird sensation! I’m glad my body is practicing and strengthening to be able to push that baby out in a few months!
For my second pick I chose this purple ish bohemian styled kimono! I honestly have a pretty plain style most of the time. I wear a lot of neutral colored t-shirts or tank tops and like to keep it classy and stay away from crazy colors or styles! Having a few cute kimonos jazzes up a basic outfit. I thought it was so cute with a grey tank top and white shorts. I also wanted another kimono for a swimsuit cover up! It is getting hot and I’m sure I’ll be at the pool a lot this summer. Having a cover up just makes me feel more comfortable! I love that its long and covers my backside. Haha 🙂
Here’s another adorable kimono I bought from PinkBlush right before I got the email that I was picked as a style ambassador! They’re so light and airy and perfect for summer! And again, great for jazzing up my plain tank top and jean shorts!
People sometimes ask if I’m “counting down the days” and I have to say NO! I am perfectly content being and staying pregnant. Not that I won’t love meeting our little baby in September! But I’m certainly in no rush to have him/her and I know I will really miss being pregnant and having this cute belly and feeling those sweet kicks!
So far I’m really not having any pain or cravings, I really truly just feel normal, just with an extra big appetite. I’ve always had a big appetite but now its ridiculous! I’m trying really hard to stay active and do prenatal workouts 5 days a week or jog for 20 minutes if I don’t do a workout. I’m also seeing a Webster certified chiropractor once every other week which has completely eliminated the mild back pain I was starting to get mid-second trimester! So I highly recommend a good chiropractor in pregnancy!
Well that’s about it for now! I hope you enjoyed my attempt at fashion blogging and hearing about my second trimester of pregnancy! Follow me on Instagram for daily posts and random tidbits of my life! 🙂
